Meet Greg Travis

Greg Travis is in his first term as a Houston City Council Member representing District G. He serves as vice chair of the Economic Development Committee, which will review matters relating to economic development, domestic and international trade, business and job creation and aviation. He also serves on the following committees: Budget and Fiscal Affairs Committee, and its Subcommittee on Debt Financing and Pensions; Ethics, Elections and Council Governance Committee; Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee; and Transportation, Technology and Infrastructure Committee. Greg was also appointed by Mayor Turner to serve on the Houston-Galveston Area Council board of directors, and was recently appointed to H-GAC's Plans and Projects Committee which reviews regionally significant plans and projects. On City Council, Greg’s main priorities are fiscal responsibility and economic development. He focuses on issues related to strengthening the city’s log-term financial health and upgrading the city’s infrastructure health.

Greg is founding member of The Travis Law Firm, P.C. specializing in commercial civil litigation. He has represented numerous Fortune 500 companies, construction firms, architectural and engineering groups, hospitals and physician groups. He has never lost a trial in over twenty years of practice. In September of 2016 Greg and his staff at The Travis Law Firm joined the firm of Hoover Slovacek, LLP. Greg was Notes Editor of the Texas Law Review at the University of Texas School of Law. Prior to attending law school, he served in the United States Air Force and was appointed Officer Training School Wing Commander before receiving an Honorable Discharge. Greg holds undergraduate degrees from Westminster College in philosophy and business administration with a concentration in economics.

Greg volunteers for Chain Reaction Ministries. This unique ministry takes old bikes in any condition and fixes them up to provide reliable transportation for those in need. He served alongside governor Greg Abbot on the board of directors for Justice for All, a group dedicated to criminal justice reform. He also served as an instructor and coach for DePelchin Children’s Center and taught Business Law of Houston Community College. Greg is a member of Mensa, Gulf Coast Mensa and St. Luke's United Methodist Church.

Meeting Summary

The Greater Houston Luxury Home Connection monthly meeting is held on the 3rd Monday of every month. It is for GHLHC members and individuals interested in becoming a member of the Connection. For more information on GHLHC membership visit our membership page. The meetings are an Open Forum, so please bring Property Flyers, Marketing Ideas, Industry News and Business Needs…Everyone has a voice.

The meetings take place at Maggiano's Little Italy, 2019 Post Oak Blvd, Houston, TX 77056 and include lunch with choices of starter, entree and dessert.



The fee for the lunch is $35 and you can register online or pay at the door.

Early Registration - There is an early registration discount of $5 if you register and pay for the luncheon online before noon on the Friday before the meeting. Limited Seating is Available.

No refunds will be given if for cancellations after noon on the Friday before the meeting.
